The Writer's Block Insurance Claim
A novelist called his insurance company to file a claim. 'I'd like to report a loss,' he said. 'My muse has been missing for six months.' The agent asked, 'Can you describe the muse?' The writer sighed, 'Unpredictable, shows up uninvited at 3 AM, disappears when I actually need her, and has a terrible sense of timing.' The agent paused. 'Sir, that's not a muse. That's a cat.' The writer considered this. 'That... actually explains a lot about my poetry.'
