Agatha Christie was once questioned by a police officer after a minor traffic incident. The officer asked where she was at 3 PM. She provided seventeen different possible scenarios, each more elaborate than the last, with three red herrings, a surprise witness, and a twist ending where it turned out the traffic light itself was the real culprit. The officer let her go, saying he'd rather unsolved cases than this level of complexity in paperwork.
